Hourly billing, two-step login and memories on observations
26 August 2026
Two-step login arrives
Staff sign in with a short code as well as a password, so a shared or stolen password is no longer enough to open your children's records. Switch it on account by account, starting with anyone who handles medical details or payments.

ReleaseBill parents by the hour. Charge families for the hours a child actually attends instead of a fixed weekly fee, which suits sessions that vary from week to week.
NewMemories linked to observations. Attach a memory to an observation so the photo and the note stay together in the child's record.
NewSettings that differ by venue. Override a system setting for one venue while the rest of your venues keep the standard.
ImprovedDirect debit runs split by school. A collection run can be taken school by school rather than as one combined run.
ImprovedTidier Montessori screens. The Montessori skills section has had a visual refresh.
ImprovedDeposits offset in parts. Part of a deposit can now be put against an invoice instead of the whole amount going in one go.
ImprovedStart a new year from a finished one. Bring across a full year you have already built, rooms, weeks and settings included, rather than setting the next one up from scratch.
ImprovedFaster, safer attendance taps. The attendance screen now confirms while it saves, which prevents double taps and marks children in and out more quickly.
ImprovedRebuilt communications section. Messaging to parents and staff has been reworked from the ground up for speed and reliability.
ImprovedClearer schedule summary. The wording at the top of a child's schedule now explains the figures more plainly.
ImprovedSteadier invoice generation. Invoices are produced more consistently across different schedule setups.
FixedDiscounts on pro rata weeks. A discount now calculates correctly on weeks that are charged pro rata.
FixedNCS with no hours alongside ECCE. A zero hour NCS award combined with ECCE is now handled correctly.
FixedFirst weeks of the school year. Creating schedules now treats the opening weeks of a new year correctly.
FixedRunning invoices early no longer breaks schedules. Generating invoices ahead of time leaves each child's schedule intact.
FixedThe last cycle of the year rolls on. The final billing cycle of a year now creates the first cycle of the next year correctly.
FixedA blank screen when updating a schedule has been repaired, and a problem on the settings page has been resolved.
FixedSeveral smaller invoice creation problems have been cleared up, along with a warning when an observation is saved inside the system.

Apple Watch observations, roomier screens and steadier billing
17 August 2026
Record observations from your wrist

NewCamp brochures open in the browser. Parents can read your camp brochure straight away instead of downloading a file first.
ImprovedA roomier menu and more usable screens. The main menu has been reworked to give you more space, with the mobile layout tidied up alongside it.
ImprovedHeaders stay put on long lists. Column headings now hold their place as you scroll, on desktop and on a phone.
ImprovedMonthly charges follow your schedule weeks. Monthly amounts are now worked out from the weeks in your schedule rather than a fixed date in the month, so they match how your year actually runs.
ImprovedFaster sending to large groups. Emails to a big list go out more quickly, and if your usual sending address is unavailable, a backup address takes over automatically.
ImprovedTidier addresses on invoices. An invoice still reads properly when a family's address is missing a line or two.
ImprovedSmoother new year rollover. Creating next year's schedules and sending them to parents are now separate steps, which keeps larger rollovers running comfortably.
FixedDeposit invoices always raised. When a parent accepts a place, the deposit invoice is now created every time.
FixedEnrolment signatures protected from email scanners. Automatic link checkers can no longer use up a countersigning link before the parent gets to it.
FixedAdding families and viewing the family list now work correctly on brand new accounts, and email addresses are checked more carefully before a send.
FixedA page in the parent portal that could fail to load has been repaired, and screens now fall back to a valid school year rather than showing an error.

NewDeposits and card payments on camps. Take a deposit or the full amount by card during booking, so a place is confirmed and paid for in one step.
NewSibling discounts on camp bookings. Families booking more than one child are charged the right amount automatically.
NewReusable lesson plans. Build a week of activities around a topic once, then apply it to any week, any room and future years.
NewObservations linked to Aistear goals. Tag an observation to the goal it evidences, so curriculum coverage builds up as staff record.
NewEnrolment types per venue or company wide. Set an enrolment type up for a single venue, or share it across every venue you run.
ImprovedFaster new school year setup. New years now arrive already structured, so the usual tweaks to schedule weeks take a fraction of the time.
ImprovedEasier yearly setup on screen. Column headers stay in view as you scroll and the page fits properly on a medium sized screen.
ImprovedEmails come from the right venue. Where venues use different addresses, messages and replies now use the correct one, including on emails with attachments.
FixedOne failed schedule no longer stops the rest. If a child's schedule cannot be created during yearly setup, every other child is still processed.
FixedNew children now default to the current venue with the right enrolments, and a bug affecting a child's very first schedule has been resolved.
FixedEnrolment emails sent from a child's profile now go out correctly, reminders to a second parent are fixed, and schedules with no monthly payments are accepted.
FixedBank holidays now carry through from your sample schedules to each child's schedule consistently.
Week of 3 August 2026
Aistear on weekly plans, new year setup, news feed
2 August 2026
Parent-Facing Waiting List launches
Parents can now join your waiting list themselves, from a branded page, with a verified email confirmation before the child is pulled onto your list.
See the full release →
NewAistear areas on weekly plans. Tag each activity on a weekly plan to a specific Aistear area, so your curriculum coverage is visible at a glance.
NewEmail families who are not enrolled yet. Send to waiting list families, past children and camp enquiries without enrolling them first, handy for camp marketing and onboarding.
NewWaiting list children in the new year setup. Rolling over to the next school year now shows waiting list children alongside enrolled children, so you can place everyone in one pass.
ImprovedDiscounts carried into the new year. The rollover brings each child's previous discount through as a starting point, so you are checking figures rather than retyping them.
ImprovedBetter formatted weekly plans. Planning notes keep their formatting on screen and in the PDF you print or share with parents.
ImprovedTidier forms page. The forms page no longer repeats waiting list entries that are already on screen.
FixedNext year's schedules start on the right date. Building a schedule for the coming year now resolves the first day to next year instead of the current one.
FixedChild records update correctly during the new year rollover, emails send even when no external recipients are chosen, and a warning on the parent statement view has been cleared.
NewIn-app news feed. Post an announcement once and it shows up for staff and parents straight away, with a live view count so you can see who's seen it.
NewFormatted update emails. Emails to parents can now include bold text, links and lists, not just plain paragraphs.
ImprovedClearer email delivery reporting. If a send fails, especially one with attachments, you'll see exactly what happened instead of a generic error.
ImprovedSafer email previews. Previewing an email template before sending no longer runs any content server-side, closing off a class of injection risk.
FixedPolicy documents now open reliably from the parent portal, and a rare mismatch between a session's venue and its enrolment count has been resolved.
